Linda E. Arnold - CEO
Linda has been active in the affordable housing arena since 1977 when she started her career with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She moved to the private sector of housing in 1983 and has been managing a diverse portfolio of affordable and market rate housing for the past 24 years. She is the owner and CEO of Beacon Property Management, Inc., and the Executive Director and founder of SOCAYR, Inc., and SOCAYR Property Management, established in 2000 as a non-profit housing developer and management agent. She holds a degree in Communication from Indiana University with a minor in business management. Linda maintains a KY Real Estate License and holds the following designations: Certified Property Management (CPM), Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), National Housing Professional Executive (NAHPe), Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Certified Manager of Housing (CMH), and C3P Compliance Specialist for low income housing tax credit projects.
Linda has served on the executive commitment for four years of the Louisville IREM Chapter; State Regional Director for Kentucky to SAHMA three years; the Oak Street Development Task Force, Officer and Executive Committee of the KY Association of Homes and Services for the Aged. She is actively involved in training seminars, her church, six children, and two grandchildren.
Lisa Despain - Vice President of Operations
Lisa joined the Beacon Group in November 1998. She has a varied background in conventional housing dating back to 1980. Lisa holds a Marketing Degree from the University of Louisville. She was a private consultant in housing management and marketing for four years before joining Beacon.
Lisa oversees day-to-day operations as they relate to customer service, lease-up, resident retention, evictions and long-term planning with capital improvements at sites. She is instrumental in the planning phases and design/development of new housing opportunities and projects. She is active in her community, her church, and her four children.
Roy Pack - Director of Property Management
Roy became a Beacon member upon his retirement from the Department of Housing and Urban Development in June 2001. he was with HUD for 23 years; starting in the Architectural and Engineering Department and finishing his career as an Asset Manager in the Housing Division. He has completed the coursework for the Certified Property Manager, and is awaiting his designation. He holds a BS degree from the University of Louisville with an emphasis in Business Management. He is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COD), C3P Compliance Certified, and has extensive experience in construction, design, supervision and staff development.
Roy directs the site staff of all HUD funded projects within the Beacon portfolio. His ability to communicate with the local HUD office, the REAC Enforcement Center, and Kentucky Housing Corporation, assists staff and owners greatly. He is well-versed in the mechanics of HUD and Kentucky Housing Corporation and prepares all budgets, rental increases, reserve for replacement analysis and long-term planning for the HUD properties. In his spare time, he volunteers in the Corydon Community through the Lion’s Club, the board of education, and his two children.
